Stamford radiators come assembled up to a maximum of 10 sections. Radiators larger than these will require on site assembly using an appropriate Joining Key.

• The Heavy Duty joining key must be used to join all Trieste radiators and any radiator (4 or 6 column) requiring more than two individual blocks of sections to be joined to make one radiator, or more than 3 radiators, in order to create the consistent torque required for a water tight seal.

The Heavy Duty Joining Key is available on a sale or return basis. Joining Keys must be specified at time of order.   they will also arrange a courier to collect it from you when you are ready.

Joining Keys & instructions will be provided for all orders over 10 sections & the Joining Key is refundable on return.

Heavy Duty Joining Tool (includes tommy bar) engineered in the UK

Heavy Duty Joining Tool - this will be refunded once this is returned on the basis this is undamaged.

Cast Iron handling and joining

Due to their weight, Cast Iron Radiators will be delivered on pallets to the nearest hard standing (driveway or yard) and appropriate assistance should be on hand to help move them into a safe dry storage area. They can be very heavy so careful handling is needed to avoid injury. Sectional radiators should always be carried vertically, not stretcher style, this avoids putting stress on the section joins.

These traditional radiators will often be supplied in smaller numbers of joined sections (referred to as batteries) requiring joining on-site to make the complete radiator. We will supply an appropriate joining tool (known as a key) on a sale or return basis, once your radiators are fitted you can return the key in the postage-paid box, if you wish to retain the key, we can then invoice you for the cost

The joining process is not complicated but it does need to be carried out correctly. Ask your installer to check that they have experience in installing and joining cast iron radiators and if they have the appropriate joining tools let us know and we will not send the loan key. This video shows you the way we recommend our radiators should be joined.

Please note, that after the manufacturing process, these radiators are pressure tested and cleaned inside with water, they may, therefore, contain a small amount of dirty water and swarf. If handling on a finished floor, ensure that adequate protective material is in place before working on the radiators.
